Hemp

Hemp is a natural plant fiber which natural impact is less harmful than many others, for example, cotton. Organic hemp is one of the most sustainable fibers in the garment industry because it is naturally resistant to pets, it requires no harmful chemicals or fertilizers, requires relatively little water and grows quickly. 

Hemp has played a large and important role in human history, it was the leading textile fiber of vegetable origin until the middle of the 19th century. 

Hemp is one of the strongest and most durable natural textile fibres. It is resistant to UV light and mold. Hemp is like linen, it is light, moves easily with the body and is breathable and have great thermo-regulating properties. Hemp wrinkles less than linen and requires less ironing.

Like all other materials also growing hemp and manufacturing products can be harmful to people and the environment. That is why it is important to use organic hemp, GOTS or OCS -certified and naturally colored hemp.
